@davidaugust Thanks, I like to think so. And seemingly so did my staff. In addition to the one manager below me I mentioned who left, another did as well. Another would but he’s only a year is so from retirement. Another is looking. Other staff have fled as well. My ex-boss didn’t replace me, she just threw everything onto those who were my subordinates and now micromanages them, just as she had not replaced a manager between her and me previously and dumped his work on me.

@davidaugust That is a very true statement. But she believes she’s amazing because she’s scary.
@davidbloomberg you’re right, too many people think being scary automatically means you’re doing something right.
@davidaugust That certainly describes her. When people quit or transfer, she usually sees it as a victory because she weeded out the weak. 🙄

@davidaugust That pretty well describes her. It was rare for anyone to stand up to her. When I did just before retiring (by trying to hold her to a verbal promise that she’d approve time off to start that retirement), she pushed back. And she definitely wasn’t happy when I found a legal way around her. Got some of the nastiest emails from her. I didn’t even bother to reply. And I’d known her for over 20 years.

@davidaugust Thanks. My blood pressure literally dropped 20 points after I left. It’s just too bad her boss (the agency director) will never do anything about here because they’re very old friends and he has no backbone.
