Ah, gotta love malicious compliance.
@davidaugust I’ve always wondered why people are willing to break their backs and minds for companies while getting so little in return. Do you you get paid for overtime? Fine. You don’t? Work only when you get paid. Your work is what you sell to your employer. Why should it be for free?
@kjellbastian because many employers around the world fire people who don’t donate themselves to the company.
I agree with you totally. Sadly, too many employers threaten to extract unpaid work from their employees.
@davidaugust now I’m talking about people living in the western world. I have worked with companies violations in Africa and Asia. But for example in the US, where laws allow you to unionise, there is every possibility to level the playing field
@kjellbastian that is hilarious, for a second I thought you were serious that there is every opportunity to level the playing field for employees and for them to not be exploited by employers in the US. That’s so funny.
@davidaugust I’m not saying you can make it even. But you can adjust the angle it leans
@kjellbastian oh. You weren’t kidding. I’m sorry. I’m so glad your expedient has not been exploitative.
That’s wonderful that you have experienced such flexibility and quality in work and workplaces in the US. That is aberrant in a good way. What a nice way for a career to be.
All people’s careers in the US should be so smooth. It is both tragic they aren’t as also unspooling and unmaking our democracy that they are not.
