Out of curiosity, I've set up https://plausible.io/ to collect some stats about this Takahē instance. I'm fully expecting the number of (non-bot) users to remain in the single digits. The fediverse works with everyone viewing the content from their local instances. It should mostly track myself and anyone I share I direct link.
In related (good) news, uBlockOrigin will detect and block self hosted plausible.
@mike how do you like plausible? I’ve been looking at it, off and on, for a while but haven’t tried it yet.
@jacob This is my first time using it. I've been reading up on it and Matomo. Both have seemingly nicer privacy practices that other options. No red flags or annoyances yet. The UI is good enough for my use case; detect other fedi instances that are direct linking to me and any hits to resume littlelink. Not much traffic for either.
The install was straightforward and it uses relatively little system resources. I have it running on a VM with 2 vCPU and it's using about 1 gb ram.
