precisely me
@missy_lynn love that... Going *poof* now...
@missy_lynn Me too
Yes!
I'm definitely an extroverted introvert and have always described myself this way.
My own personal private space is sacred to me.
That's why I live alone * by choice *
@missy_lynn I didn't even know that "social battery" was a thing, but I came up with a pretty similar analogy 🤣
@missy_lynn I was a bit surprised when the docs said that I am introvert. But, now it is so nice to see that there are more folks having the same emotion :)

Snap.
@missy_lynn I don't like how people always confuse introvert/extrovert with social anxiety. Being an introvert is totally fine.
@missy_lynn This also works the other way round. I am shy and anxious when socializing but when I finally manage to keep up a conversation/maintain a positive relation to someone I can talk to, I feel, that's where I get my energy from. But people tend to assume I'm an introvert because I don't have many friends and don't do a lot of activities.
@missy_lynn this is me as well. I love it!
@missy_lynn Me, too! I can even speak at big events (and with very few notes) but do I need to wind down big time afterwards!
@missy_lynn Great to know there are others out there like me! Always thought I am being impolite to those I socialise with when I get tired.
@missy_lynn 100% me too!
This. Absolutely this. #IntrovertLife
@missy_lynn Recharge can also take longer than expected!
@missy_lynn As a social hermit, I know this all too well. After a party or hosting house guests, I need to retreat into my cave : read, write, be silent and still…
An #introduction to my #writing :

@missy_lynn 100% me as well. Cool too see it expressed succinctly
@missy_lynn /raise hand :)
@missy_lynn I feel seen. :-)
@missy_lynn I feel seen ...
@missy_lynn Irish goodbye to the rescue
@missy_lynn Oh. Wow... me too!
@missy_lynn Me too!
@missy_lynn Introversion is not shyness (which is the fear of public shame): it's about brain stimulation, actually, and some folks' aversion to too much of it.
@missy_lynn
Me: man, I need to see some real people! I need to get out!!
Me after lunch with a friend: that was great! I can’t wait to see people again next month!
@missy_lynn this defiantly reminds me of my self ...... even the poof thing
@missy_lynn this is me
@missy_lynn me to! I feel like I'm pretty great socially, but it drains me and I need to retreat to my island for a good few months after each social foray.
@missy_lynn This. Also, may it be known the worst part about having tiny children is they do not believe in alone time.
/me sighs.
@missy_lynn quite similar to Simon Sinek‘s explanation here that explained to me how I work: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ozSjZ6iRKSA
I figured out not long ago that I am an extrovert presenting introvert.
@missy_lynn brilliant!
Me me me me me! :-P
@missy_lynn Me too. At 7 my mum decided I should have a birthday party. One of the guests brought me a book. So when I'd had enough party I went to my room to read it in peace. Haven't changed much.
@missy_lynn That’s me 🙏🏻
Yup. Meeeee, tooooo.
@missy_lynn
Yes!
This is me as well. Long social interactions exhaust me completely, especially as I have gotten older.
@missy_lynn the best goodbyes are Irish ☘️
@missy_lynn Amen!
@missy_lynn Yup - alone time matters.
@missy_lynn 🤣yip🖐
Further introvert fun: dense crowds can be less problematic than thin crowds ...because it's far easier to just disappear and be anonymous and there's far less pressure to interact. Plus, it's usually noisier in denser crowds so, if someone DOES try to engage you, you can often escape engagement with the old "it's too noisy in here" pantomime.
@missy_lynn how cool would it be if you just teleported home as soon as your social battery ran out
@missy_lynn I have a friend exactly like that
@missy_lynn EXACTLY
me to a fault
@missy_lynn @eilonwy
This could also describe “ambiverts”?
@missy_lynn
Thankfully, it's like exercise and you can build stamina over time... It never completely goes away, but for me it gets easier.
